You can expect some changes in your life when you decide to work in a home business. When you choose to make a career change and work at home, you must prepare for the effects that it can have on you because every aspect of your life can be changed for the better or worse. You should make plans and consider both personal and business issues before you decide to leave a nine to five job to start your home business. You must address the career change with family members. Make sure that you extensively review both a personal and business budget. This will show that you are making a plan for the future. Preparing and planning for your needs when entering a home business is similar to creating an emergency plan for yourself. For example, you would make the necessary preparations for a flood or tornado.
Four main areas that are affected by the change to a home-based business are family, income, time, and freedom. These areas of life are connected in some shape, or form, and they can be dramatically affected by this career change.

The benefits of home based business are becoming clear to many in the U.S. and across the world as more and more people set up to work from home. Statistics collected in 2006 estimate that legitimate home based businesses account for an annual revenue, in the U.S., of more than $100 billion dollars. This is quite a considerable sum and it's clear that people are starting to realize the multitude of advantages offered by this method of working.
Owning a home based business offers many benefits to you and your family. When you work at home in your own home based business you can often adjust your work schedule to reflect the needs of your family, working, for example, when small children are sleeping or in school.
Instead of meaning working on your computer and talking on the phone at the same time in an office, your new version of multi-tasking when you work in your own home based business may include talking on the phone while you feed your baby, recording business letters while you walk your dog, or problem solving while you throw in a load of wash.
